Our Team

Stephen M. Kirouac, CPA 586-752-7700

Founder and President of Stephen M. Kirouac, CPA, PC, Mr. Kirouac established the firm in 1989. Prior to graduating from Michigan State University in 1972 with a BA in General Business Administration, he started his career in public accounting with the CPA firm of Doren, Mayhew, Grob & McNamara in 1971. In 1972 he joined the firm of Berger & Wild and rose to the position of manager. After twelve years, in 1984 he jointly formed the Troy, MI firm Groen, Walas & Kirouac, CPA’s and was responsible for client development, selection of information technology systems, training team members and assisting clients in many industries with tax, accounting, systems analysis, financial planning and strategic planning.

Mr. Kirouac has been servicing businesses and individuals throughout Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and other states for more than thirty years. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, the Michigan Association of CPA’s, Detroit Chamber of Commerce, North Oakland Business Exchange and Results Accountants Network. He also has been a regular contributor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Kathryn L. Boechler, CPA (586) 752-7700

Kathy is a returning employee to Stephen M. Kirouac, CPA, PC. After graduating from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1990 she worked as a staff accountant for a local CPA firm in Grosse Pointe Farms until she became part of "Team Kirouac" in the fall of 1992. While working in public accounting, Kathy developed her knowledge of individual, corporate and partnership income tax as well as advised clients with their accounting systems and software.

In fall 1998, however, Kathy decided to expand her accounting experience and became the controller for a local landscaping company where she was responsible for budgeting, job costing, managing cash flow, preparing monthly corporate financial statements and overseeing human resource functions, as well as other management tasks.

Kathy's work experience in both private and public accounting has given her a unique business perspective. Now, she is not only able to advise her clients in setting goals, developing and implementing systems/procedures and monitoring performance, she knows what it takes to execute these tasks too.

Jeanine I. Risch (586) 752-7700

Jean became our newest team member in January 2008. She has over 20 years experience in office management. She was also a full charge bookkeeper in several different industries, including, property management, medical administration, service, manufacturing, and certified accounting. While working full-time she attended Davenport University part-time and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2004. Jean brings 10+ years experience with using Quickbooks and other miscellaneous accounting software, including most Microsoft Office products.
